Fair trading forge of empires8/28/2023 ![]() Trade played an important role in the spread of Islam in some parts of the world, such as Indonesia. The Islamic conquests, which culminated in the Arab empire being established across three continents ( Asia, Africa, and Europe), enriched the Muslim world, achieving the economic preconditions for the emergence of this institution owing to the emphasis attached to Islamic teachings. ![]() These early caliphates, coupled with Muslim economics and trading, the Islamic Golden Age, and the age of the Islamic gunpowder empires, resulted in Islam's spread outwards from Mecca towards the Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans and the creation of the Muslim world. Most of the significant expansion occurred during the reign of the Rashidun from 632 to 661 CE, which was the reign of the first four successors of Muhammad. Muslim conquests following Muhammad's death led to the creation of the caliphates, occupying a vast geographical area conversion to Islam was boosted by Arab Muslim forces conquering vast territories and building imperial structures over time. Well I'll leave FoE if I'm forced to comply to irrational rules like that. The spread of Islam spans about 1,400 years. Now after around a year trading in the next guild I joined quite happily using the trade calculator they are talking about going back to the old fixed ratios mainly because some people can't be bothered to use it even though we had agreed we could trade anywhere between true value and old fixed ratios which meant you could be generous as a temptation if needed. OK, if they can't evolve with FoE that's their choice, but, it was not for me. ![]() ![]() I left my last Guild ages ago when we were forbidden to trade fairly using the Fair Trade Calculator and were forced to stick to the pedantic 1:2 or 2:1 due to Guild officials being stuck in the past in a period before the higher ages were introduced. True value of goods between consecutive higher ages was no longer 1:2 or 2:1, but, decreased as you went up the ages until you get to trading between Contemporary and Tomorrow where they revert back to 2:1 and can be calculated very simply with the Fair Trade Calculater. As many of you know the introduction of higher ages saw a change in ratio of value of goods produced comparing one age with another. ![]()
